RE-DELIVER DON CARLOS

On 30/10/2006 HVS completed the elongation conversion of PCTC ‘Don Carlos’ and delivered to ship owner.

Mr. Lar Olof Andersson – representative of the ship owner – said: “HVS has made great progress in ship repair and conversion field”.

Don Carlos vessel arrived at Quay #3 of the shipyard on 14/9/2006. There, HVS carried out preparatory jobs such as tank cleaning, temporary welding, marking, deck cutting v.v. Then the vessel was pulled to Dock #1 for cutting, adjustment and elongation of 28,8m. At this stage, the job was carried out fast and exactly since it would decide re-delivery time of the vessel.

The upgrade of the front of Deck No.6 was also executed at the dock. SPS technology was applied so HVS just supported to weld steel structure of the deck, install new system of car fastening, and coating. SPS spraying was carried out by Intelligent Engineering Limited.

On 13/10/2006 Don Carlos was pulled to Quay No.3 for completion and test of fire alarm system, ventilation system, CO2 system… After balance test and durability test of water tank and oil tank, sea trial was carried out.

On 30/10/2006 Re-delivery Minutes was signed by representatives of HVS and the ship owner, completing the elongation conversion of Don Carlos, and getting ready to receive the next vessel - Don Quijote (arrived at the shipyard on 7/11/2006).
