TAM DAO I JACK_UP RIG BERTH HVS

Implement the repairing contract No. 0408/T-N1/VSP06-HVS signed on August 4th 2005 between HVS and VIETSOVPETRO, according to the plan, Tam Dao I jack-up rig berthed HVS for repairing on April 3rd 2006.

Tam Dao I jack-up rig built by Keppel Fels Singapore shipyard in 1988 with dimension (L x B x D) 64.2m x 68m x 8m, Vietnam register of shipping is exploiting oil at the White Tiger Oil Field of Vietnam.

As estimation, the total of repairing time for Tam Dao I is 180 days (60 days in dry dock), the main scope of repair work includes renewal of 210 tons of steel work; renewal of 10,200m of pipes; blasting & coating 119,423m2 of tank, hull; renewal of 4 sets of generators, raising the generator capacity by 40%; installation of a five-ton crane, a set of mud pump and a set of draw work.

Vietsovpetro decided to repair Tam Dao at HVS after HVS completed many projects with immense volume of works, complex quality, and high technical demand, for example Cuu Long jack up rig, Ba Vi FSO, Chi Linh FSO, Dai Hung FPU, Hoang Sa…

Before HVS came into operation, big projects as Tam Dao, Dai Hung, Cuu Long… of Vietsovpetro were repaired in overseas countries; repairing at HVS will save expense and transfer technology to Vietnamese workers.

According to the schedule, Tam Dao I will be completed and delivered in October 2006.
