HVS Trade Union Congress term 2006-2008 took place on 23-Jun-2006. This is the 2nd congress of Trade Union since its establishment.

Attending the congress there were Mr. Mai Thu – Standing Chairman of Khanh Hoa Labour Federation, Mr. Tran Ba Thanh – Vice-Standing Chairman of Vinashin Trade Union, Mr. Tran Duc Thuy – commissioner of Vinashin Trade Union, concurrently Trade Union Chairman of Nha Trang Shipping Industry Company, President Sung Woo Lee, and representative of Labour Press at Khanh Hoa.

After the ceremony of saluting the flag, Mr. Cao Thanh Dong - Chairman of the presidium - stated congress program; reported on investigating the delegates’ behaviour.

The report in the 1st term (2003 – 2006) summarized activity process during last time of HVS Trade Union, evaluated objectively advantages and disadvantages in activity, through that highlighting achievements as well as shortcomings.

The congress discussed vividly in activity directions of Trade Union in next term. There were many real opinions about activity form of the Trade Union, matter on developing trade-unionists, bettering the quality of bus and restaurant, educating employees following the company’s regulations & labour law.

After discussing, the congress and executive board listened to instructing opinion of the High Trade Union and representative of Khanh Hoa Labour Federation in the task of building, organizing trade union along with the company to build a healthy working environment, stable production; the task of propagandizing Labour Code, the company regulations and activity regulations of Trade Union to employee; the task of developing Party from the grassroots trade union. The congress passed resolution of the assembly with high.

The congress elected Executive Board of HVS Trade Union in 2nd term (2006 – 2008) with 11 persons per 15 candidates. Mr. Cao Thanh Dong was elected as a Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Tam Chien – Vice-Chairman, and Mr. Nguyen Thai Vu – member of standing committee of HVS Trade Union.

The congress completed successfully, opening a new term with new tasks for HVS Trade Union in the next time.
