HVS ORGANIZED A LAUNCH FESTIVAL “MONTH OF ACTION OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HYGIENE IN 2023”

Implementation of Plan No. 1535/KH-UBND dated February 23, 2023, of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee on deploying Month of Action occupational safety and hygiene in 2023, on the morning of May 16, 2023, HVS organized a Launching Ceremony “Month of Action occupational safety and health in 2023”.

Mr. Van Dinh Tri – Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Labor, War Invalid and Social Affairs Dep’t – Standing V. Chairman of Khanh Hoa Occupational Safety and Health Council attended and launched. There were leaders of Dep’t, Van Phong EZMB attended together. On the HVS’s side, Mr. Lee Jong Chan – President, Mr. Le Van Toan – Sn.V. President, directors, G. MGRs, and over 150 HVS employees were attending.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lee Jong Chan said: “Determining that people are the most valuable capital of HVS, HVS has always continuously improved the quality of occupational safety and health (OSH), improved working conditions to bring the safest working environment and most comfortable for employees.

In 2023, with the slogan “Increasing revenue based on safety and successfully building new ships”, HVS sets a revenue target of $544 million, zero serious accidents, a 7% productivity increase, and a close oil tanker capacity of 110 thousand tons. To achieve the above business goal, HVS is determined to achieve the goal of 5 consecutive years of no serious accidents and an accident rate of only 0.047% by building a safety culture from compliance with the basics and the rules.

Mr. Van Dinh Tri highly appreciated the achievements and efforts of HVS’s BOD and employees in occupational safety and health; At the same time, he suggested that HVS has to continue actively responding to Action Month with specific activities to most effectively implement the safety – health – environment policy of HVS, that is: Strengthening the health of workers – Preventing accident – Leaving a clean environment for the next generation.

Also at the ceremony, authorized by the Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Mr. Tri presented the Certificate of Merit to HVS for its excellent achievements in the work of OSH in 2022.

According to the report on the OSH of HVS, in 2022, HVS rewarded 12 excellent collectives in implementing propaganda and education on occupational safety with the amount of 12,000,000 VND, awarded to 9 departments with a total amount of 391,110,000 VND for achieving the prescribed number of accident - free working days and rewarding individuals who have discovered potential sources of danger that can lead to accidents with amount 12,730,000 VND. During Workers' Month, HVS and the Trade Union visited and supported 32 cases of employees in difficult circumstances with the amount of VND 21 million; HVS leaders and Trade Union organized to distribute soft drinks to all employees
