On August 23, 2006 the second vessel M/V Asian Majesty of EUKOR PCTC project was completed and delivered to the ship owner, finishing the elongation conversion within 45 days including 19 days in dry dock. Following the success of Wallenius project (5 vessels), Asian Majesty was completed as scheduled with high quality, so the representatives and experts of the ship owner appreciated and spoke highly of HVS employees, especially PCTC project management team. The Delivery Ceremony was organized solemnly with the attendance of HVS Vice President K.Y.Kim and representatives of the ship owner – Mr. Roger Palmqvist, and closed in satisfied and friendly atmosphere.
This success is an impetus for us to prepare for the second Wallenius project of 3 vessels. Currently, the Shipyard is fabricating and erecting blocks for the vessel Don Carlos, which shall arrive at the shipyard on September 9, 2006. We are facing new challenges since the requirements on technology and quality of ship owner is getting higher. Moreover, a new technology known as SPS (Sandwich Plate System) shall be applied for reinforcement job of deck No. 6. This is a challenges and an opportunity for our employees to learn new technology as well.
With experience and success in last elongation conversion projects, we believe that HVS will continue to be successful in the second Wallenius project.
